BolognaFiere is one of the world's leading exhibition centres, located in the Fiera district in the north of Bologna in Emilia-Romagna. The grounds cover a total area of around 375,000 sqm, with roughly 18-20 fully wired, air-conditioned halls, and host major international fairs including Cosmoprof, Cersaie, SAIE and Arte Fiera.
The venue
The halls are equipped with modern IT systems and served by five independent entrances, allowing several events to run simultaneously. BolognaFiere is notable for its direct infrastructure links: it has its own motorway exit and tollbooth and a nearby railway connection, plus parking for around 14,500 vehicles. A major restyling and expansion programme launched in 2018 has been modernising the grounds.
Exhibiting and stand-building context
BolognaFiere hosts design- and materials-heavy fairs such as Cersaie (ceramics and tile) and Cosmoprof (beauty), which bring construction-intensive, high-finish stands with significant weight and installation requirements. The five-entrance layout and multi-event scheduling mean hall placement and build-up timing matter, and BolognaFiere's technical rules govern services and installation. Getting there
The venue's dedicated motorway exit and tollbooth give direct road access, and it is linked to a nearby railway station and served by public transport from central Bologna. Bologna's central position in northern Italy and its airport make the venue accessible for domestic and international exhibitors alike, supporting the large visitor volumes of fairs like Cosmoprof.
