The SEC (Scottish Event Campus, formerly the SECC) is one of the UK's largest integrated exhibition, conference and entertainment venues, located on the Clydeside in central Glasgow. Its SEC Centre offers five interconnected exhibition and event halls totalling over 22,000 sqm, alongside the landmark SEC Armadillo auditorium and the 13,000-capacity OVO Hydro arena.
The venue
The five clear-span halls range up to the 10,065 sqm Hall 4, with Hall 3 offering black-box multi-purpose space, giving flexibility for exhibitions, conferences and banquets. The campus also includes the Foster + Partners-designed Armadillo (around 3,000 seats) and the OVO Hydro arena, so the SEC combines trade and conference use with major live entertainment on one Clydeside site.
Exhibiting and stand-building context
The SEC hosts a broad mix of trade shows, conferences and consumer events, so stand briefs vary from exhibition builds to conference sets. The clear-span halls give good layout flexibility, and the venue's technical rules govern rigging, power and build-up, with load-in through its managed dock system. Exhibitors confirm hall placement and logistics ahead of the build.
Getting there
The SEC has its own railway station (Exhibition Centre) with direct services from Glasgow city centre, plus road access and proximity to Glasgow Airport. Its Clydeside location, integrated transport and combination of exhibition, conference and arena facilities make it Scotland's premier events campus.
