BIEMH is Spain's leading trade fair for machine tools and advanced manufacturing, held every two years at the Bilbao Exhibition Centre (BEC). The 2026 edition, its 33rd, runs 2-6 March 2026. Organised by BEC, BIEMH gathers around 1,300 exhibitors and draws tens of thousands of trade visitors, opening the international advanced-manufacturing calendar with machine tools, automation, tooling, metrology and subcontracting for the automotive, aerospace and energy industries.
BIEMH is a working-machinery fair, so its stands are built to run and demonstrate industrial equipment. Exhibitors install and operate machine tools, robots and automation cells on their stands, which brings high floor-load, three-phase power and compressed-air requirements, with the machine as the focal point and demonstration and meeting space arranged around it. The engineering audience expects live demonstration, so the stand functions as a working production environment rather than a static display.
BIEMH fills the BEC halls organised by process and technology, so hall placement relative to a company's field matters to reaching the right buyers within the Spanish and wider European manufacturing market. The weight of the machine tools and the services they need make these builds load-critical, and BEC's technical rules on floor loading and power apply. Given the equipment involved, exhibitors confirm stand design, machine logistics and placement well in advance.
For companies exhibiting at BIEMH, a builder with Bilbao and BEC experience is a practical advantage: installing and powering heavy machine tools, managing floor loads and services is specialist work, and local knowledge of the venue's logistics, load-in and approved contractors reduces on-site risk during the fair that opens the advanced-manufacturing year.
