The February 2026 edition, which would have marked the fair's 75th anniversary, was cancelled: in consultation with the Swedish wood and furniture industry association TMF, the organiser decided the fair will not take place in 2026 and will instead relaunch in a new biennial format in 2027.

There is no Stockholm Furniture Fair in 2026, so any 2026 planning should be redirected to the 2027 relaunch. The associated Stockholm Design Week programme was affected by the same decision. When the fair returns, its historically design-led brief is expected to continue, favouring the clean, material-honest, well-lit stands that characterise Scandinavian design presentation.
Historically, the Stockholm Furniture Fair has set a distinctive stand-building standard: restrained, high-finish builds that let furniture and materials speak, with careful lighting and Nordic craftsmanship, quite different from the large custom spectacle of some Continental fairs. Builders working the Nordic market typically emphasise finish quality and material integrity over scale.
For companies that exhibit when the fair returns in 2027, a builder with Stockholm and Stockholmsmässan experience is a practical advantage: design-led Nordic stands reward specialist finishing and lighting, and local knowledge of the venue's logistics and approved contractors reduces risk. Until then, the 2026 edition is cancelled and no stands will be built for it.
